About Me
Welcome! My name is Janet, and I am a research scientist, data analyst, and technology lover. I have a broad range of quantitative and qualitative research experiences in behavioral, social, and consumer sciences.
I am passionate about applying my research and analytical skills to support user-centric technological developments. As a researcher with psychology background, I have been interested in understanding what psychological factors drive people’s decision-making processes and behaviors. I believe understanding and improving user-centric technological products would better not only the industry but also the quality of our lives, as technology has seeped into virtually every aspect of our daily experiences. Acknowledging users as free agents and developing products with understanding of their decision-making processes and behaviors, rather than looking at them as passive consumers of product messaging, can lead to long-term user satisfaction and adoption. In this regard, UX research on the design impact on audiences plays a very important role in both business and user successes.
I currently work as a content analyst at Hanover Research, primarily working with B2C clients. Prior to joining Hanover Research, I worked as a research consultant at an applied social science research firm, The Strategy Team. I also have research, work, and teaching experiences at the Ohio State University, New York University, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Bangkok, Samsung Credu, and a couple Japanese universities.
I received my B.A. in psychology from New York University in 2009 and my Ph.D. in psychology at The Ohio State University in 2015, with a major in experimental social psychology and a minor in quantitative psychology.
I am always looking to talk to new people and expand my knowledge. Please take a look at my resume and projects, and feel free to contact me with questions, suggestions, or new ideas.
